Experience
Sugar Team Member, Debian
Sep 2026 to now
- Ported telepathy-salut, the C daemon behind Sugar’s peer-to-peer sharing, to libsoup 3 after Debian dropped the package
- Fixed memory bugs in the stock 0.8.1 release that crashed the daemon when a file transfer was cancelled or dismissed
- Restored sharing between laptops in Sugar, a GTK desktop environment for Linux, on Debian 13 and Ubuntu 24.04
Google Summer of Code Contributor, Sugar Labs
May to Aug 2026
- Built Sugar’s AI reflection feature on a stateless, provider-agnostic engine with schema-validated LLM output and a tested spec that it only asks, never answers
- Shipped reflection-engine in Python and built its sugar-ai endpoint, scored by two LLM judges on 934 responses over three LLMs
- Rebuilt the Journal UI in GTK, fixed its bugs, and traced a datastore bug where saving any activity wiped data added by others
Code Owner, OpenTelemetry (CNCF)
Jan 2026 to now
- Took over the unmaintained Alibaba Cloud Log Service exporter as code owner and brought it back from deprecation, now shipping in the official Collector build
- Fixed a ZooKeeper receiver bug that silently dropped latency metrics on 3.7+, and stopped HTTP 500s on large vCenter deployments by batching metric queries
- Made the Go compile-time instrumentation tool work on vendored projects like VictoriaMetrics, which failed to build before
AI Engineer, Freelance
Jul 2025 to Feb 2026
- Built full stack AI apps, from LLM ticket triage to RAG over documents, in Django, FastAPI, React and PostgreSQL
- Automated lead and work tracking with two-way Notion and Trello syncs that resolve conflicts
SDE Intern, Ksolves
Feb to Jul 2025
- Built and ran real-time ingestion pipelines on Apache NiFi and Kafka, set up the source and sink systems on both ends, and monitored them with Prometheus and Grafana
- Tested AI-generated flows in Data Flow Manager, Ksolves’ NiFi product for banks and telecoms, and tracked their failures
- Prototyped RAG and text-to-SQL tools (LangChain, vector search) so non-engineers can query internal data in plain English

Write-ups
- ZooKeeper latency fix, OpenTelemetry. ZooKeeper 3.7 and later report average latency as a float, and the OpenTelemetry Collector parsed it as an integer. The metric was dropped with no error. Now the receiver reads it instead of dropping it.
- Metrics connection leak, KubeEdge. In KubeEdge, CloudCore could panic when a request for an edge node’s metrics was cancelled early. The cleanup only ran on errors. Now it always runs.
- Alibaba exporter brought back, OpenTelemetry. The Alibaba Cloud Log Service exporter in the OpenTelemetry Collector had no active owners and was going to be removed. I moved it off a deprecated SDK call and became its code owner.
- eval() removal, Music Blocks. Music Blocks found some of its own classes by name with eval(), which a strict Content Security Policy forbids. I put those classes on window, and now the lookup finds them without it.
Projects
- reap. List, open and delete Claude Code and Codex CLI chats. Trash with undo.
